Dylan Wiliam—Formative Assessment Expert and Consultant
Dylan Wiliam is a former math and science teacher who has had a high profile career in assessment for 20 years. In 1998 he co-authored a major review of research evidence on formative assessment, Inside the Black Box with Paul Black. He is former deputy director of the Institute of Education at the University of London and was senior research director at the Educational Testing Service (ETS) from 2003 to 2006, where he led research around developing effective teacher professional development for formative assessment, leading to the development of Keeping Learning on Track.
Today, Wiliam is a consultant who continues to work with many teachers in the UK, US and throughout the world on developing formative assessment strategies and practices to support improving student learning.
